Mannahoac: Cub Scout Leader Training 14 DEC 2010

Important Training Notice

TO:      Cub Scout Leaders                                       

FROM: Mannahoac District Training Chair

Mannahoac District will hold Cub Scout Leader Training (Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Pack Committee Members) on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 7pm at the Charles Town Presbyterian Church, 220 East Washington, Charles Town, West Virginia.  (Parking is in the back), so you are better prepared in offering a quality program to your Scouts. 

The training being offered is;

·        Leader Specific Training for your Scouting position.
·        Fast Start Training for your program: A introduction to your position. If possible please complete this training online. It can be accessed via: www. Sac-bsa.org.
·        This is Scouting:  Training for all Leaders and Committee Members in all BSA Programs. If possible please complete this training online. It can be accessed via: www. Sac-bsa.org.
·        Youth Protection Training: If possible, please complete Youth Protection Training prior to this date. Youth protection should be taken every two years.  It can be accessed via:  www.sac-bsa.org. This training will be offered at 8pm for those that have not completed it online.

Registration will be at 6:30pm. Training starts at 7pm.

If you have not been trained or it has been more than 5 years since you have been trained plan on attending.  Every boy deserves a trained leader.

Youth Protection training is required for all leaders. New leader’s registration will not be processed unless they have completed Youth Protection training. Current leaders must have completed Youth Protection training prior to rechartering. Otherwise, they will not be reregistered.

The cost of this training is picked up by the Shenandoah Area Council through donations of Friends of Scouting.

Veteran's Day 2010 Remembered


Local Scouts will be remembering Veteran's Day with a brief ceremony on Thursday, 11 NOV 2010.

Troops 2, 3, 9, and 45 will conduct a "flag retreat" at Handley Library at 6PM.

All Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to put on their uniforms and attend.

Feel free to bring your troop, pack or crew colors to show.
