Shenrapawa District Leader Specific Training

Shenrapawa District
Leader Specific Training
(Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturing)
Thursdays, October, 21 OR 28 2010
7:00pm – 9:00pm

Every Scout deserves a trained leader. If every leader took one day at a time out of their life to get trained, they would be more confident in their position and their Scouts would receive a better quality program.

The first step is “FAST START” training. This is a video you can watch on line through the council web site www.sac-bsa.org under training, or ask your unit leader, training chairman, or your unit commissioner to borrow a copy of the video.

“NEW LEADER ESSENTIALS” training has changed names and is now online.  The new name is “THIS IS SCOUTING”.  It takes about 45 minutes to complete and covers the Mission, Aims, and Methods of the Scouting Programs and the resources that are available to you. Go to www.myscouting.org.  If you already have a login you can go for it.  If not, please create an account and get started.  You will need your registration number from you membership card.  This training is for all new leaders in Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews, and Unit/District Committee members.  You can also reach this link from our website.

If you need other assistance to complete the training listed above please contact Dave Winsatt at 540-931-7090 or David.Winsatt@scouting.org

Family Camp Update--25-26 SEP 2010 at Camp Rock Enon

Family Camp is coming up quickly!  If you are a part of Cub Scouting, this is a great chance to keep the "outing in Scouting"!

If you haven't registered yet, now is the time.  Don't forget parts A and C of the medical form for each person attending, too.

There is a typo on the form--check-in begins at 8AM, not 10AM!

Hope to see you and your Scouting family at Camp Rock Enon!

Shenrapawa OA Chapter Meeting

Shenrapawa OA Chapter Meeting
Sunday, September 19, 2010
2:00-3:30pm
Andy Guest State Park
The park is in Warren County, eight miles south of Front Royal and 15 miles north of Luray. It's off Rt. 340 in Bentonville
The plan is to meet at the entrance at 2:00 pm and limit vehicle entrance into the park to save money.
If you arrive after the group enters you will need to pay the entrance fee yourself.  (You will then need to drive around and find us.)
We will find a location for the meeting and get started as soon after 2pm as possible.
(Shelters are first come first served.)
It is important that each Boy Scout unit have a representative there youth and/or adult so we can work to make the Shenrapawa OA Chapter a more vibrant group.  Any Brothers are welcome to attend this event.
Please visit the Andy Guest State Park website for more information about the location.
