A day packed with training, fun, and fellowship for adult leaders
Registration 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Program 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Shenandoah Area Council University of Scouting:  the premiere training event of the year for all adults involved in Scouting!


Be prepared to have fun, meet new and old friends, exchange ideas, and sharpen your Scouting leader skills.  You'll increase your knowledge, gain valuable skills, and find fun and exciting ways to make the program more interesting to the Scouts you serve. More than thirty hands-on workshops and training classes will be offered.  All three programs of the Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing, are represented.  The material presented will help to enrich every pack, troop and crew.


A midway full of Scouting-related displays will highlight the event.  The local Scout Shop will provide many BSA items for sale like program materials, books, patches, gift and recognition items will be available for purchase. The Scout Shop will be open during registration and lunch, so plan on a visit then!


Additionally, everyone will receive a custom designed patch and lunch, included in the registration fee.


Shenandoah Area Council University of Scouting is a great opportunity for fun and fellowship with other Scouters from throughout Northern Shenandoah Valley and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.


The University will definitely offer something for everyone!




FEES:

PARTICIPANTS -- $18.00 (Includes Event Patch, materials[1], and lunch)
(First Aid/CPR add $1; add $20 if you want to keep the book)
PARTICIPANTS (late registration) -- $20.00 (Event Patch, materials, and lunch cannot be guaranteed)
STAFF (registered Scouters) -- $10 (Includes Event Patch, materials, and lunch)
STAFF (non-Scouts) -- $0 (Includes Event Patch and lunch)

Important Dates

  • January 15 – Last day for registration with $18 fee.
  • January 16 - Late registration begins. University of Scouting will cost an extra $2!

BSA: Follow Me, Boys!



Come help celebrate the 100th Birthday of the Boy Scouts of America!

Monday, February 8, 2010 you can attend a showing of the movie, “Follow Me, Boys” a classic Scouting movie at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Winchester.

Doors open: 5:30
Opening ceremony and presentations 6:15
Movie starts: 6:30

The ticket price is $2.50 per person.

Tickets must be purchased in advance due to a limited number of seats. Tickets may be purchased by calling or visiting the Scout Office - (540) 662-2551.


This is a uniformed event!

All Scouts and Scouters attending in uniform will receive the centennial celebration patch and the activity segment for this event.

2009 Best Popcorn Pix Contest results



Brendan from Troop 423 in Woodstock, won a Nintendo DS-Lite for this winning photo in the 2009 Best Popcorn Pix contest sponsored by Trail's End.

Troop 423 is chartered to the Knights of Columbus Council 9002.
